Monitoring Effluent Discharge For A UK Airports Operator In response to new regulations in late 2008, one of London's busiest airports was required to monitor their effluent discharge levels more closely. Specifically they were required to monitor the level of effluent water which was being drained from their car parks to a local reservoir. We provided our MSP telemetry system to a local distributor who integrated our MSP with an Ultraflux UF 322 open channel flow meter. Our MSP collects readings of the effluent levels and volume every 15 minutes and these readings are transmitted to the Ibexis website every hour. Manta multi parameter water probe from Eureka Environmental will shortly be integrated which will also allow the airport to monitor the quality of the effluent water. This will be integrated into the existing MSP meaning that the customer will benefit from a single point remote monitoring solution with sensors and instruments from different manufacturers. An Early Warning System For Flash Flooding Our client is a university in Crete. They have developed a software application to help predict flash flooding activity. Working through our local distributor we provided MSPs to our client which have been integrated with RM Young rain gauges across 5 locations. A further 5 MSPs were integrated with Impress water level transducers in 5 different locations. Our MSPs deliver real time data on precipitation levels, river depth and water flow. This data feeds into our client's software to deliver early warning alarms for potential flash flooding. Improved Management & Distribution of Water (Domestic Market) Our client is a Government Agency in Greece which looks after water management. They wanted to improve their knowledge of the volume of water in local reservoirs and rivers in order to manage the pumping and distribution of water to the domestic market more efficiently. We integrated our MSPs with Impress level transducers as well as with our own EC and temperature sensors. Our MSPs are situated at rivers and reservoirs or in boreholes across multiple locations throughout Greece. In boreholes our MSPs are connected to the sensors via a cable which go to depths of up to 400m. Our MSPs sample the water once every hour and transmit this data every 2 hours to our website. Our client uses this data to help improve water resource management. Improved Management & Distribution of Water (Irrigation) Our client is a water authority in Crete. They are working on a project to help improve their management and distribution of water for their irrigation customers. Our MSPs are located at rivers and reservoirs across multiple locations in Greece. They have been integrated with Impress level transducers as well as our own EC and temperature sensors. Our MSPs transmit the data to the Ibexis website every hour. Our client uses this data to improve the management and distribution of water to their irrigation customers. A National Review Exercise to Improve Understanding of Underground Water Quality Our client is a national institution in Greece. Working through our local distributor, we have supplied 65 MSPs which have been integrated with Manta probes from Eureka Environmental. Our MSPs are collecting and transmitting information on dissolved oxygen (DO), water temperature, level, EC and pH. Investigating Geothermal Activity Our client is a Government agency in Southern Europe. One of their remits is to improve their understanding of geothermal activity to determine the feasibility of identifying alternative sources of energy. Our MSPs are located across multiple locations and are integrated with Impress high temperature level sensors that operate up to 120 degrees. They deliver the data to our website every 2 hours. Monitoring National Rain Fall Levels In Greece (Deployment Phase) Our client is a Government agency in Greece. We have supplied them with MSPs that our local distributor has integrated with weighing rain gauges from Scientific Enterprises Ltd. This project is currently in deployment phase. By the end of the project our client will have a national network of MSPs collecting and transmitting data on national rainfall levels. Helping To Protect Wildlife in Europe Our client looks after one of the largest estuaries in Europe. Every year tens of thousands of birds flock to this estuary during autumn time. For the protection of the birds, it is crucial that our client is aware of any potential threats to the quality of water in the estuary. We have a number of MSPs that are situated on buoys in the middle of the estuary. The MSPs are connected to Manta multi parameter probes from Eureka Environmental and transmit live data for water temperature, EC, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity and salinity. Our client has set up a number of alarms through the Ibexis website which will immediately inform them of any changes to key measurements which are out of their permissible range. We have also strategically located additional MSPs around the estuary. These are connected to wind speed and direction sensors from Vector Instruments, rain gauges from RM Young and air temperature sensors. Crucially, if there is any contamination to the water our client has access to real time wind speed and direction information which will help them to establish how quickly and in what direction the contamination may spread, allowing them to act accordingly.
